The Weekend

It's been a filled weekend. Saturday Nick had a morning workout, so while he was gone I planned the upcoming week's dinner menu and made the shopping list. Once he got home we hung out for a bit then I had to go to the nail polish store because that is my reward. I called Julia to see if she wanted to go and away we went. The drive there wasn't as pleasant as it could have been. While stopped at a long red light a car decided to play bumper cars with my car. The lady said that her breaks didn't work. She was frantic! My car didn't get a scratch or dent or anything and her SUV's license place was all messed up, but that was about it. So, after assessing that and dodging a few more cars that tried to  turn into mine we made it to the nail polish store. I was allowed to get one, but decided on five. Julia was holding two and dropped one and it splattered everywhere! The nice store workers said that it happens everyday and not to worry. She got three colors. We made it home safe and just in tome to get ready to go to the Short Track World Cup.

Nick was scheduled to block chase for the World Cup, but the people who's place he was supposed to take were having too much fun, so he got to sit and watch with me. Jon & Julia came and sat with us too. The skating was awesome. The US team looks pretty good this year. Lots of talent. I miss skating.

Sunday I went to church while Nick went to watch some more races. We met back up at home around 1 and got ready to go back to the Oval for the last part of the World Cup. Nick was again scheduled to block chase and did for the relay finals. Nick's dad was in town for the event and after it was all over we three went out to eat and have a nice chat for a few hours. On the way back home I couldn't believe that it was going to be Monday in less than 12 hours.

So Monday rolls around and I get up, thaw and cut up some chicken to marinate while I went to workout. Got home, and noticed that the curb in front of my car was all wet with oil so I looked under the hood. There was oil all over my front bumper and under the hood all over everything and the cap was missing. UG! I went in the house and the apartment management people came over because our kitchen floor is coming up in a few places, so they had a look and is deciding what to do about that. I called a few people trying to figure out what to do about my missing oil cap and remembered that I needed to get the potatoes going. The apartment people left and I got in the shower. Nick came home, I got the potatoes in the oven and had to go grocery shopping. Why can't people take their carts an extra 10 feet to the cart holder place in the parking lot? I got back home from that and Nick left to go take my car to get it fixed up and washed off. I started cooking the chicken and made chick-fil-a chicken nuggets. They taste pretty close to the real thing! Nick came back home and went to the club house to compute while I finished up getting dinner ready and ate lunch. He came back home and we went to work for 10 hours.

I am ready to do nothing next weekend.
