Current events

Today Nick hopped out on the long track as an official long tracker. The ice felt very fast! His new boots feel good. Finding a sweet spot on a much flatter blade (compared to his short track blades) will be tricky for a little bit and getting used to the clap will take some time. Has an okay push, but can't find the right spot/angle to land the blade. It's his first day, I am sure by the end of the week he will be a pro.

I am getting a new camera this week so pictures will come soon.

We had an exciting weekend. Saturday morning was our company's employee sale. It's like a deluxe yard sale/Christmas morning. The items that are up for sale consists of customer returns that are not resalable (deodorant marks, damaged, scratched, hair, etc...) or stuff that the company just can't get rid of. We get to buy it for $1, $5 or $10. Long story short, we showed up with $85 and left with $1 and a whole trunk full of rad stuff!

Mostly clothes, and a few favorite items are:
- $10 north face down coat with tags attached and in perfect condition, as seen here BRING ON THE ICE RINKS!
- $1 mountain hardware beanie and t-shirt- Nick's favorite
Lots of base layer shirts, pants, shorts, about 20 t-shirts, mittens with liners, knee warmers, leg warmers, and the list goes on.

Nick with all our stuff.
It was a fun day. Sunday comes along and I was craving mashed potatoes and gravy. Then all of a sudden meatloaf. So I made it. Instead of cooking the meatloaf in a loaf pan, I cooked it in a muffin tin. It was half the cook time. Yum.

In taking on my wifely duties I tried to get an oil stain out of Nick's shorts. Fail. I ruined them for life. Lesson learned.

For the record, I didn't put bleach on them though it looks like it.
Before heading to work today, we had a visit from our friends Jon & Julia. They are getting married next month and I am helping them with their engagement pictures (another reason why I need a new camera ASAP) and announcements. It'll be fun!
