Chritmas Day

Sunday morning we got up and went to church at 9am (for the last time this year! Switching to 11am for 2012). Normally church is 3 hours, but since it was Christmas it was only an hour. It was a good meeting, lots of singing by the ward choir, primary and a trio and a solo along with some readings. We got home and started making the cinnamon rolls. We also made and ate pancakes in the meantime. The cinnamon rolls did not turn out because I killed the yeast with too hot of water. Oops. They didn't rise at all, but they still taste alright, next time will be amazing. Around 2:30 we skyped with Nick's family and then at 3:00 with my family. We had to go to our friend's to use their internet. After all that, we went to Temple Square to look and take pictures. It was so crowded! We got home around 7 and Nick was in bed by 8. I stayed up and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas before heading to bed.

Oh! The gifts! We got some money, gift cards, family photos, a frame, a candle warmer, slippers, goggle lens, new clothes, ski poles, a local coupon book and I think that's it.

Backing up to Christmas Eve, Nick went skiing with Anthony and Alex all day, I got to relax and ran a few errands before the stores closed early. That evening we got all dressed up and went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse. We had a gift card from our wedding which helped out when the bill came along. Nick got a NY steak or something and I got chicken. Then we also got cheese potatoes and broccoli and then chocolate cake. The total cost was $102.00 Whew! It's fun to splurge once in a while. The food and service was amazing! At the table next to us was a party of about 12 people. Glad not to have that bill!

All in all it was a nice first Christmas together.

My $10.00 coat in good use.

Fun dots.

This is just a look at the public scene.

It was cold.
