Happy all 1's day!
The last 28 hours have been pretty intense. Yesterday around noon, I had just got back home from attending a work meeting. I had mt ID, work badge, phone and keys when I got home, and purposefully left my wallet at home so I would have to cart it around.
So once I got home I went into the living room to show Nick the papers I got from the meeting, he called his mom and at the same time, mine called me. I went into the bedroom so I could hear better and as I was sitting on the bed remembered that I still needed to put my ID and work badge back in my wallet, so I did.
Four hours pass and it's time for us to head to work. Nick said, "Where is your wallet?" I didn't know, so I looked in the common places. Couldn't find it. Removed all the couch cushions, nothing. Looked under any paper, on top of any flat surface and between everything... nothing. Time was running out and we had to get to work, so we left thinking I might have taken it to work. Nope, nothing. Nick kept trying to say that it was at work or in the car that we checked twice by now and I told him that I really thought it was in the bedroom.
We got home from work and my mind hurt trying to think of what I did with it! I knew I had it in the house because I put the cards back in it. I even dreamed that I was looking for it. Our house is only so big and my wallet is bigger than the average wallet, so how hard could it be to find? Apparently, very.
This morning after feeling tired of looking for it thanks to my dreams, I began a deep cleaning with the dresser. I cleaned out all my clothes, refolded and hung and organized. No wallet. I searched the dirty clothing laundry basket and ended up doing laundry. I folded all the clean clothes and cleaned out Nick's side of the dresser thinking that maybe it fell in there, nothing. I searched the closet, under the bed, between the bed and wall, in the trash, in the bathroom drawers and closet, nothing. I searched all 6 book shelves, between and behind books, in any storage box (some of which I haven't opened in a few months), kitchen drawers, cabinets, in pots, the fridge and freezer... everywhere, not just once or twice, but a few times.
When Nick came home from training, we looked in all those places again and he check his side of the drseser again, pulling out all his clothes, setting them on the floor and putting them all back. Nothing. We drove to work and checked with HR and the security guards, and I knew it wouldn't be there, but none the less, nothing. We went back home and took a break and decided that it will show up with it does because I was 99.99% sure that it was in the house.
As we were getting ready for work, I was getting the food ready and Nick was in the bedroom changing. FOUND IT! I went back to where he was and I saw him holding a pair of pants in his hands and my wallet on the floor. He said that it was rolled up in his pants that were in the dresser at the bottom of the pile, the pants are ones that he hasn't worn all year.
How in the world it got there, we will never know, though we have our theories. I think he put it there so that I would clean... and he thinks that I thought he was a good dancer and wanted to give him all my money, so I put my wallet in his pants.
I'm just glad it was found, and my ID and badge were in it, so I didn't dream it.
