Today

Today marks one year since Nick had his shoulder surgery. All is great and normal. This morning Nick went to practice and I headed downtown to pick up his mom at the hotel and we went to the rink to watch Nick skate. I took a bunch of pictures and videos that I am working on getting posted. Around 11:30 we went to our house for lunch and then went to the Dutch store. Nick's mom is from there and there isn't a store like this where she lives, so it was a real treat for her. We got some sprinkles and waffle cookies - oh and Nick's cheese! He was beyond thrilled. I tried it and it's like nothing I've ever tasted. After the Dutch store we went to the park to just walk around and enjoy the air.

Nick had an afternoon bike ride that was much needed so we took his mom back to the hotel for the evening. Tomorrow I don't know what all the plans are, but I do know we are having spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread for dinner!

Here is Nick and some of his team doing a stair workout after ice today. It's 20 minutes long with two parts: running and jumping up the stairs.

Here they are running 1 step, then 2 steps, then 3 and sometimes 4. They do this for five minutes then switch to he jumps.

Oh and something that I forgot to mention yesterday, Nick has been participating in an Adventure contest at work. How it works is, for any outdoor activity that you do, including picking up trash, you are awarded points for miles and elevation gain. He logged all his info and ended up in like the top 20 so he was awarded some swag. He got an Arcteryx Gortex jacket that retails for $450 and a beanie that is $35. He is beyond stoked and ready to hit the slopes.
