My friend Lindsay in Calif has had LASIK eye surgery scheduled for 2 weeks now and has been freaking out and I have been freaking out with her. The whole thought of lasers and having your eyes stuck open while there is cutting and rummaging around with your eyeballs isn't something that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
She did it this morning! She called me on her way home and told me all about it. Her first words were something like: Oh my gosh I was freaking out over nothing!
She then went on telling me how it all went down. She was given a valium right when she got there to chill her out. After numbing drops, a eye suction thing and looking at a blinking light for 10 minutes it was all over. She was given a vicodin to make her sleep once she got home and was told that when she woke up she would be as good as new!
She has since woken up and can see without her thick glasses or contacts. So brave.
